Death Korps of Kreig: Part 1

This time it’s turn for this amazing army made bu Forgeworld, it’s not my army, it’s an order from one of our regular’s customers, with this order i had the opportunity to apply our ‘Eavy Metal quality to all the miniatures, so the painting quality it’s higher that you use to see comming out from our brushes.

For this army i was asked to use an schema that looks like the one from the Wehrmacht, i used Vallejo paints for their uniforms and masks,  to be accurate, 085 and 099 colors for the uniform, and 120 and 113 colors for the masks, satchels, belts and brackets, for the helmet’s base color i used the 147, all of them from the Model Color range. Those paints have worked very well when i had to mix them with Citadel paints to make the medium tones and strongest lights. A very critical aspect of this scheme was the explicit request from the customer to make them look very worn, because of all the battles they have been trough. To make them look worn, i painted them in the firs place as they were new, fresh from the washer, and from there i browsed magazines and historical books, and started to make gradients and battle damage on the spots those effects where more obvious. I would have liked to work more on the bases, but our customer asked to fill them with fine sand pinted in brown and dry brused with bone white so he can add a snow effect on them in his house.

Here you have a gallery from this Korps of Krieg battalion.
